Jägermeister & Cherry Cokeribs

Kind of different ribs. Not quite your traditional BBQ. But hey, it is all about the taste – right?

You need:

  • Baby back ribs, 4 of them at least (one per person)  
  • 2 oranges 
  • 2 red onions  
  • 8 dl BBQsauce – your favourite kind (home made?) 
  • 1 pot of fresh mint   
  • 2,5 dl orangejuice  
  • 2,5 dl Jägermeister (German liqueur) 
  • 2 dl srirachasauce  (or other hot chilisauce)
  • 2 cans Cherry Coke 
  • Cherry smoke chips 

Rub: 

  • 0,5 dl freshly ground black pepper 
  • 0,5 dl onion powder  
  • 4 tbsp anchochile powder (or other chili of choice)
  • 0,5 dl paprika powder 

Instructions:

  • Mix all ingredients for rub 
  • Rub ribs thoroughly 
  • Prep grill for Low&Slow and approx 100 degr C
  • Smoke chips on .- let smoke for 2 hrs
  • Slice oranges and red onions finely 
  • Finely chop the Mint 
  • Place ribs in pan that fits on grill
  • Cover ribs w slices of orange, the mint and onions 
  • Mix BBQsauce, orangejuice, Jägermeister and Sriracha
  • Pour mixture over the ribs
    then add cherry coke to cover ribs in the pan 
  • Cover with tin foil and cook on grill for 2-3 h.
  • When the ribs are getting real tender, let sear very quickly over high heat 
  • Serve with sides of your choice
